Echoes

I exist in phases, in the in-betweens,
Echoes often rise in my mind,
Fragments from a different place and time.
Echoes are memories—traces of a time long gone.
Where no one looks and no one sees.

This project began as a simple exploration of the word "echoes". At its core, the concept of echoes represents repetition, reverberation, and the persistence of sound—or memory—across time and space. It’s not just the literal sound that bounces back, but the symbolic traces of moments, thoughts, and emotions that linger long after their origin.

I began experimenting with different typeforms, movements, and noises to express the concept of how echoes travel from one place to another, leaving silence in their wake—the fleeting moments before the sound returns to its origin. This project exists in that silence. The echoes are not just present as sound; they also exist in the images we recall and the words we repeat in our heads over and over again. It attempts to capture the ethereal nature of echoes—how they ripple through our minds. These sounds travel as waves, through radios and satellite connections, carrying signals, messages, and fragments of information that linger and resurface in unexpected ways.

It also reminded me of seeing grainy visuals on an old crt tv which influenced the visual look of the project.
